National Black Cat Day is marked annually Oct. 27 to celebrate the beauty of these felines and raise awareness about their adoption rates, which are lower compared to other cats.

Due to a lot of superstitions and myths surrounding black cats, these felines are not adopted by households unlike the others of their species.
