The New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams are scheduled to face off at Super Bowl LIII on Sunday night. Unfortunately, football fans still have a few more days to go before they can watch the two teams battle it out for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

In the meantime, sports fanatics can prepare themselves for game day by watching some football-themed films and documentaries on Netflix. Whether you simply need to kill time before the game or you’re in the mood for some sports-related content, you’ll surely be entertained ahead of kickoff.

Before you watch the 2019 Super Bowl, consider checking out these football movies and documentaries available to stream on Netflix.

1. “Marvel & ESPN Films Present: 1 of 1: Genesis” – Are football players superheroes in disguise? This Marvel and ESPN documentary explores the connections athletes have to superheroes like Spider-Man and Captain America.

2. “Triumph of the Heart” – While Dermatomyositis ended the NFL career of Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ricky Bel, this film explores a time during the athlete’s life when he inspired a handicapped boy, who managed to do the same.

3. “Quiet Victory: The Charlie Wedemeyer Story” – When high school football coach Charlie Wedemeyer is diagnosed with ALS and only given a year to live, he refuses to abandon his team. Instead, he becomes more determined than ever to lead his players to their first state championship.

4. “Carter High” – A high school football team’s dreams of taking home a championship begins to fall apart when racial tensions and criminal activity take the game from the field to the courtroom.

5. “Undefeated” – The football team at Manassas High School only has one goal in mind, to break their school’s 110-year losing streak. Lead by Bill Courtney, the football coach aspires to help his players achieve greatness on the field and in the classroom.

6. “The 4th Company” – While serving time in a Mexican prison, a young man joins the football team unaware that winning a game can mean the difference between life or death.

7. “Last Chance U” – For some athletes football is just a game but for the men in this documentary, their positions at their colleges are their final chance to change their lives, both on and off the field.

8. “The Waterboy” – This comedy will provide football fans with a few laughs before they sit down for some trash talking on game day. The movie tells the story of an outcast whose inner rage turns him into the star of a college football team.

Super Bowl 53 airs Sunday at 6:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
