  • The Shadow Company, ziplines and loot train teased in new Season 5 trailer of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare"
  • The train was first hinted when Infinity Ward sent the game's first trailer to @NickMercs
  • A Reddit post hinted on the possibility of a five-man squad more for Season 5

Infinity Ward has released an explosive new trailer of the fifth season of “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” and “Warzone” and just like the previous packs, bullets, guns and debris will be everywhere.

Season 5 will, first and foremost, introduce the Shadow Company, an elite Private Military Company (PMC) “that operates outside the boundaries of the original Armistice.” Comicbook further described the Shadow Company as a “splinter group formed without compromise” and will be comprised of Marcus “Lerch” Ortega,” Velikan and Rozlin “Roze” Helms.

The new Season will also add Trains, according to the outlet in a separate article. It was first hinted when Infinity Ward sent the first trailer of “Warzone” to streamer @NickMercs and the sound of a train can be heard as soon as a chopper flew in from the left side of the train.

In addition, the teaser had “5-August-2020” and “10:46:13:16” as the date and time – a direct indication of Season 5's arrival. Twitter user @charlieINTEL shared the teaser and said that that a “train is coming to Verdansk” on the aforementioned date.

Kotaku meanwhile said that the “loot train” will enable players to navigate the map faster. At the same time, the gaming website saw ziplines for players to “zip up to take the fight to pesky snipers without needing a helicopter to access certain rooftops.”

A Reddit post also made the rounds among gamers. It posted a screenshot of a helicopter with five men on board, suggesting a long-overdue rumor about a five-man squad mode for the new season of “Warzone.” Infinity Ward co-studio head Partick Kelly confirmed to USA Today in an interview earlier this year that the team is “already playing with” five-man squads “internally,” according to Games Radar.

One thing that's left for gamers is to download the latest patch to play Season 5. But then again, it comes at a hefty 36GB on the PlayStation 4 and requires 90GB of free space to start the download, said IGN. “Modern Warfare” Production Director Paul Haile admitted that the patch is “big,” but the update contains new content and optimization for the game's asset packs.

“This means the download will be big, but the overall size of the game will actually shrink on your consoles after you download the patch,” said Haile.
