Liam Payne revealed that he is a massive "Harry Potter" fan. The One Direction member hasn’t just read the books and seen the movies, he spent thousands of dollars on a set piece from “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.”

“I bought the 'Harry Potter' car and I put it in my garden,” he told Nick Grimshaw's Radio 1 “Breakfast Show” (via E! Online). “You know the blue car, the flying car? I bought one because I'm a bit of a geek.”

The car is a blue 1959 Ford Anglia. The 2002 film showed the Weasley’s flying the car to save Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) from the Dursley’s. Later in the film, then 12-year-olds Harry and Ron (Rupert Grint) flew the car to Hogwarts after missing the train. See the car fly in a clip from the movie below:

A vintage car isn’t a cheap purchase, but its film history makes it even more valuable. The Daily Mail reports that the car likely cost at least six figures. However, it wasn’t the only model used in the magical movie. Other “HP” fans can go see different Ford Anglias used for filming at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London and the National Motor Museum in Bealieu, England.

The 22-year-old hasn’t been quiet about his love for J.K. Rowling’s famous book series. Earlier this year, Payne was given a “Harry Potter” themed cake on his birthday that was topped with a golden snitch and Harry’s glasses. The One Direction member also visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. “I love universal studios Orlando Harry potter world,” he captioned an Instagram photo in July. “I'm such a Harry potter nerd and there's no better place to feel like a wizard.”

Payne revealed that he is a Gryffindor as well, much like Harry Potter himself. “I did the test on the website,” he revealed on the radio show. “My friend got Hufflepuff and I got Gryffindor. He was so annoyed.”

We’re guessing Payne will probably be quite excited for Rowling’s next endeavor, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” With One Direction’s upcoming hiatus, the “Drag Me Down” singer will have plenty of time to watch the upcoming “Harry Potter” prequel.
