Overwatch 2 D.Va
D.Va returns in Overwatch 2 Overwatch 2

KEY POINTS

  • D.Va excels at diving and disrupting the enemy backline
  • She strikes a good balance between offense and defense
  • D.Va is incredibly mobile thanks to her low-cooldown movement ability

Hana Song, otherwise known in "Overwatch" as D.Va, is an aggressive tank who can tear through enemy backlines with her oppressive kit that also comes with a very respectable defense mechanism.

D.Va can hold a frontline like Reinhardt and dive carries like Wrecking Ball. She's extremely versatile in terms of both offense and defense, which makes her one of the best characters in the game.

"Overwatch 2" D.Va Guide

D.Va uses twin Fusion Cannons that rapidly fire shotgun blasts in front of her. These don't overheat like Orisa's weapons or reload like any other gun in the game, which means players can hold these down indefinitely while only taking a small movement speed penalty. Pepper enemies as much as possible with these to build ultimate charge while whittling away their health.

Her main defense ability is Defense Matrix, which shoots down all incoming projectiles within its area of effect. Use it to block incoming primary weapons fire, Junkrat grenades, Pharah rockets and even Moira's orbs.

D.Va won't be able to shoot while using Defense Matrix, but she can use her Micro Missiles and Boosters to dart around the map or dive enemy carries while remaining safe. Charge in with Boosters while firing a barrage of rockets to throw the enemy backline into disarray.

Her ultimate ability, Self-Destruct, deals immense damage over a very large area, often killing anyone who isn't hiding behind cover. Use this to push a heavily-contested payload or clear a control point of enemies.

D.Va Tips and Tricks

A charging, high-health mech that's absorbing bullets while spewing rockets is extremely intimidating for squishy DPS carries and supports. D.Va's presence in the backlines can split a team in half and give allies enough time to burn an enemy tank or claim an objective.

Booster cooldown is very short at just four seconds. Use it to dive, deal damage and dip out before the enemy can destroy the mech. It also deals a tiny amount of damage when D.Va collides with an enemy, and it can boop enemies off ledges.

Lastly, Booster can be used to propel the mech while it is Self-Destructing. In maps with high or no ceilings, send the mech flying upward while it is detonating, so it can hit enemies hiding behind cover when it explodes.
