KEY POINTS

  • Bastion was disabled due to a bug that enabled infinite uses of his ultimate ability
  • Torbjörn can still be played in Quickplay despite a bug with his Overload skill
  • A bug has locked some players out from using their favorite heroes

Two of "Overwatch 2's" damage-dealing heroes have been disabled due to serious bugs, including one that completely breaks the game.

Torbjörn and Bastion were recently pulled from the game by the developers in an attempt to keep the stability of competitive matches alive. Blizzard didn't specify what kinds of problems these two were causing, but apparently, Torbjörn's issues aren't serious enough to warrant a ban on Quickplay queues.

Some players have found that Torbjörn's Overload ability, which makes him slightly tougher and much faster, can be used twice in a row. This isn't game-breaking in any sense, but it does lend Torbjörn mains a stark advantage over the competition.

On the other hand, Bastion is much more problematic. Several videos on social media have popped up in the past few days showcasing the lovable death machine firing an unlimited number of artillery shells from its reworked ultimate ability.

Bastion's ultimate can be easily abused to fire as many shells as its duration will allow. In response, the hero has been completely disabled from the game. Oddly enough, Bastion cannot be viewed in the Hero gallery either.

Unfortunately, Blizzard is yet to schedule a fix for either of these heroes. Players will have to be patient if they want to use either Torbjörn or Bastion competitively since the game has other major bugs that need to be resolved.

One such issue involves a bug that locks players out of heroes they have already unlocked. In a competitive game with an underlying meta that relies on counter-picks, this bug can be devastating. However, not everyone is experiencing this issue, and it seems like it disappears when players restart their games.

Other bugs are less impactful, according to the known issues list. Players reported issues with their friends lists as well as an upsurge in LC-208 errors. Maps for custom games like Numbani and Necropolis were also disabled due to map-specific bugs.

"Overwatch 2's" launch was borderline disastrous due to overloaded servers that were hampered even more severely by DDOS attacks. The game has since recovered from these issues, but other technical problems have remained.

Fixes will be announced via the official "Overwatch 2" Twitter account.
