A 17-year-old teenager was allegedly abducted from his Northeast Philadelphia home overnight and tortured. Three people suspected of the crime were arrested after police surrounded another home.

According to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, the teen’s parents called police after their son went missing from their Lawndale section home around 11.30 p.m. Sunday.

The parents said that they heard a loud noise from the basement of their home. When they went downstairs to check, the teenager was no longer there, WCAU reported. Police were then called to the scene.

Officers found a bullet hole in the entrance to the basement and three bullets outside. Police were able to track the teenager using his phone to a home on Trotter Street in nearby Oxford Circle, a mile away from where he went missing, KYW reported.

The boy at some point was able to make a call and say that he was trapped and being held at gunpoint. The call was then cut off, according to reports.

Early Monday, police and a SWAT team surrounded the house where the teenager was being held and talked to the abductors, said Small. After 3 a.m., a male and two females were taken into custody as they came out of the house.

The 17-year-old, who also came out of the house had sustained serious injuries to his face, feet and head. He went in and out of consciousness, police said, adding that the boy was rushed to the hospital where he was treated in stable condition.

"It was a good job done by police and detectives to track this phone and find the alleged abductors," Small said, according to WCAU.

“Our number one priority was to get him [the teen] medical treatment because he was clearly bleeding heavily from his face and head,” Small said, adding: “I saw his face, it was very swollen.” The teenager also had some cuts contusions and large bumps on his face, the officer added.

According to investigators, the teen was able to identify his abductors. Police said that the teen may know one or all of the suspects, who could face kidnapping and assault charges. Police did not share the motive of the crime.
