A 12-year-old boy was recovering after he was attacked by a pit bull as he walked to his friend’s home in Toledo, Ohio, on Friday.

Michael Anaszewicz Jr. was going to his friend’s place to see if the latter wanted to play videos games. Upon arrival, the friend came out of his home to meet Anaszewicz Jr. The dog too followed his friend out of the home.

Recalling the incident, Anaszewicz Jr. said, “It jumped up on me. It licked me a couple of times and it bit me on my face. It jumped down and grabbed my foot and started biting my arm. It went for my face again so I used my arm like this and that’s when it got my arm.”

Two good Samaritans rushed to the scene to help the boy. Daniel Boone, 25, said he did not think twice when he saw the dog maul the boy.

"He was still attacking the kid. So I pulled on to his tail and that's when he looked at me and started charging at me. I grabbed him by his neck once and I let go. I grabbed onto his neck again basically tried to antagonize him some more so that way nobody else gets hurt. The third time is when he jerked his neck and I backed up. I tried to run out to the side walk and I tripped fell and he basically got me," Boone said, adding that the canine bit him on the arm, stomach and hand. The dog also attacked the other good Samaritan; however, the seriousness of the injury was not known.

Anaszewicz Jr. suffered bites to almost the entire body. He got 30 stitches and is temporarily using a wheelchair as he is unable to walk.

“I’m just hoping it had his shots and stuff. I’m a wrestler, and I don’t want this to mess with my career,” Anaszewicz Jr. said.

Meanwhile, the dog’s owner surrendered the pit bull to the Lucas County Canine Care and Control who will decide on its fate once the investigation is over.
