Pretty Little Liars
On “Pretty Little Liars” Season 7, episode 19, Aria’s (Lucy Hale) freedom will be at risk when a little car trouble garners police attention. Freeform

In the previous episode of “Pretty Little Liars,” A.D. claimed that Aria had earned her freedom, however, a sneak peek of episode 19, “Farewell My Lovely,” hints at her possible arrest for murder.

In the Season 7 sneak peek of the Freeform series, Aria (Lucy Hale) is approached by a police officer who attempts to help her after seeing her standing on the side of the road.

In the previous episode, Aria heard something moving in her trunk, curious about the noise, she pulled over to investigate. When Aria popped the trunk, she saw Archer Dunhill’s (Huw Elliott) decomposing body covered in a tarp. She then screamed, dropped her keys in the trunk and slammed it closed as a police car pulled up behind her.

In the sneak peek, the officer offers to help Aria get her trunk open even though she lies and tells him that a friend is on the way with a spare set keys. Despite her resistance, the officer shakes the trunk until it pops open but before the audience can see what happens next, the scene ends.

Seeing as the officer managed to get the trunk open, the scenario can play out in several ways. Although Archer is wrapped in a tarp and his face cannot be seen, his hand which is missing a finger is exposed.

This means the police officer can open the trunk and see Archer’s decomposing body part and arrest Aria for murder or Aria can move quickly, snatch her keys off the tarp and shut the trunk.

There is also the possibility that A.D. wants to make Aria sweat and has a plan to get her out of the situation and back on the “A” team after she cut ties with the villain.

At the end of the day, A.D. wants to let the Liars know that they no longer have control of their lives. In an earlier episode, A.D. sent the Rosewood police Archer’s finger which helped them discover that he never left town and was instead murdered.

After some investigating, the authorities turned their attention to the Liars, convinced that they were involved in the murder. The police aren’t necessarily wrong, technically speaking. Hanna (Ashley Benson) killed Dunhill with her car while he was chasing Alison (Sasha Pieterse). However, she was not alone.

Aria, Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Emily (Shay Mitchell) were also in the vehicle and helped dispose of the body. In the previous episode, A.D. told the Liars they had 36 hours for an individual from the group to turn themselves in for the murder or they would all go down for the crime.

When the group refused to let one of their own take the fall for a crime they were all involved in, A.D. was forced to take matters into their own hands. What does the villain have planned for the Liars?

From the looks of the sneak peek, it seems like A.D., who promised Aria freedom, may have had a change of heart and never had any intentions of granting it to her in the first place. Will Aria be able to get away with murder?

“Pretty Little Liars” Season 7, episode 19, airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. EDT on Freeform.
