Prince Harry’s cousin Peter Phillips compared his mom Princess Anne and sister Zara Tindall.

Princess Anne and Zara have both forged a career in horse riding. The two are professional equestrians and in a video interview with Peter in 2010, he spoke about his mom and sister.

“They’re both very independent. There are a number of other words that you could fall out of that independence,” Peter said of the Royal Princess and Zara.

When asked for more words to describe the two royals, Zara joked and told her brother that he had to be nice. Peter considered the question before giving more answers.

“Headstrong, single-minded, focused, pick whichever one you want,” he added before Zara interjected, “hard-working!”

Peter agreed that both of them are hard-working. However, Phillips added that “Zara wouldn’t have got to where she has got in her sporting role without having some of her mother’s single-mindedness and independence.”

Peter added that they were brought up being told that they needed to work hard. They were trained not to complain or quibble about a bit of hard work.

In the same interview, Zara noticed that her older brother kept on swearing, so she told him about it. Peter hilariously put his hand over his mouth and apologized seemingly unaware of what he said and asked: “It was only once, wasn’t it?”

Zara laughed and told Phillips that he usually used that excuse to her. Zara and Phillips are very close as seen in the interview.

According to royal expert Ingrid Seward, Queen Elizabeth II is closest to Princess Anne’s children because they are her first grandchildren and they will always be the monarch’s favorite. Seward added that the Queen is most relaxed with them and the monarch used to give Zara a smack around the legs because she was naughty.

In related news, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are reportedly jealous of Zara and Peter because they enjoy a greater degree of freedom. Zara said in a previous interview that they were lucky their parents did not use the title for them because growing up, they were able to do the things they wanted to do.
