Prince Philip and Prince Andrew's relationship with each other is reportedly very important. Among the Duke of Edinburgh’s three male children, he shares the most qualities with the Duke of York.

Journalist Sue Arnold previously also said that it is only Prince Andrew who can shake Prince Philip out of one of his famous black suits.

“Of the three boys, he is the most like Philip, inheriting, along with his father’s looks and easy charm, the legendary Mountbatten arrogance,” she said (via Express).

According to Arnold, Prince Philip also admired his son’s macho action-man image because it reminded him of his own youth. And since the Duke of York was the result of Queen Elizabeth II, and Prince Philip’s reconciliation, he is regarded with utmost importance by both of his parents.

“Now Andrew can do no wrong. He can tickle her [Queen] under the ribs in a drawing room at Buckingham Palace until she gasps and begs him to please stop. Prince Charles would be far too reticent to indulge in such horseplay; Prince Edward, at 22, much too serious,” she said.

But despite the Queen and Prince Philip’s favorable attitude towards their son, there was one incident that they both reprimanded him. In 1985, Prince Andrew doused a row of photographers with white paint, and this resulted in his parents reading the riot act to him.

“The Duke of Edinburgh put in a furious transatlantic telephone call advising his second son to put his finger out and grow up. Royal-image makers were instructed to spray a little white paint over Andrew’s tarnished reputation… He was effectively confined to barracks and spent a chastened summer holiday cruising with his parents on the royal yacht off the Scottish coast,” she said.

But even though Prince Andrew has a wonderful relationship with the Queen and the Duke, it is believed that Prince Edward is still the dad of four’s favorite child.
