Kate Middleton was forced to attend her first royal wedding without Prince William.

In 2008, the Duchess of Cambridge witnessed Peter and Autumn Phillips’ big day, but Prince William was not with her at the special event because he opted to fly to Kenya to attend the wedding of his old flame Jecca Craig’s brother.

Middleton also met Queen Elizabeth II for the first time at that royal wedding. Although Prince William was missing, the duchess found a good companion in Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend, Chelsy Davy.

According to Katie Nicholl in her 2017 book “Harry: Life, Loss, and Love,” the two ladies “stuck together like glue.” They were reportedly keen on making a good impression to the monarch that they worked together to be at their best.

“It was the first time either had navigated such an important social occasion, and they were keen to make a good impression, particularly in the presence of the Queen,” Nicholl wrote.

However, it wasn’t the first time Prince William snubbed Middleton for Jecca. The Duke of Cambridge reportedly didn’t notice Middleton on his 21st birthday in 2003 because his attention was all on Jecca.

When Middleton arrived, she barely registered to the royal prince. In addition, Prince William opted to have Jecca sit beside him.

“As Kate raised her champagne flute to toast the birthday prince at the aptly themed Out of Africa celebration at Windsor Castle, it was Jecca who had pride of place next to William at the head table,” Nicholl added.

Prince William reportedly had a crush on Jecca since their first encounter. She was very attractive and so she quickly caught the attention of Prince Harry’s brother. She had long blonde hair, deep-blue eyes and gazelle-like legs.

In related news, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge got married in 2011 and are now parents to three adorable royal children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Prince William and Middleton are not as tactile as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but they recently packed on some PDA.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were caught on camera holding hands while walking as they left Kensington Palace to visit Blackpool. The netizens were very pleased with the sight that one described as “tasteful.”
