Since Prince Harry married Meghan Markle, the Duke of Sussex has been reportedly feuding with Prince William. The brother’s different paths in the royal family allegedly caused their recent rift. However, when they were young, William refused to share the spotlight with his younger brother.

In the book, “Harry: Conversations with the Prince,” Angela Levin claimed the Duke of Cambridge’s reckless behavior almost ruined Prince Harry’s 1984 christening.

“Prince William, a typical impish, energetic toddler, didn’t like not being the center of attention. He wriggled nonstop when he was told to sit down next to his father and looked equally cross that he wasn’t allowed to hold his baby brother,” she wrote.

“His behavior made it very difficult for Lord Snowdon, the former husband of Princess Margaret, who was trying to take the official photographs.”

Levin revealed Prince William was allowed to carry on the inappropriate behavior and wasn’t reprimanded by Prince Charles or Princess Diana. “His assistant commented afterward: ‘Every time he [William] did something naughty, they all roared with laughter. No one admonished him, and he was being a thorough pest.”

Although his parents didn’t discipline him, Prince Charles attempted to distract William from causing a ruckus but failed to calm the restless toddler. “At one point, Charles tried to occupy him by telling him the history of the christening gown,” Levin wrote.

“William rolled his eyes, which must have been instinctive rather than deliberate. Diana didn’t take his behavior seriously and jokingly gave him the sobriquet of ‘Your Royal Naughtiness.’”

Although Prince William didn’t mind ruffling feathers when he was younger, nowadays, he is focused on his royal duties and supporting Prince Harry amid his troubles.
