Prince William and Prince Harry inherited a curious habit from their dad Prince Charles.

In “Prince Charles at 70 ” documentary, Prince William and Prince Harry recalled how the Prince of Wales taught them to pick litters with their “spikes” while on vacation.

According to Prince William, Prince Charles took them litter picking when they were young during holidays. They were at Norfolk on school holidays and were litter picking with the future king.

“We thought this is perfectly normal, everyone must do it. We were there with our spikes stabbing the rubbish into black plastic bags,” the Duke of Cambridge said.

Prince Harry also believed that what they did was normal even if it prompted some teasing at school.

“I used to get taken the mickey out of at school for picking up rubbish. I didn’t go out consciously looking for it but when you go for walks anywhere and you see something and it stands out, you pick it up,” Prince Harry said about the hobby they inherited from Prince Charles.

“I’ve literally done this because I’m programmed to do it because my father did it. We should all be doing it,” the Duke of Sussex added.

Litter picking is not the only thing Prince Harry learned from Prince Charles, the soon-to-be dad admitted that he’s obsessed with turning the lights off. Unfortunately, this habit annoys his wife Meghan Markle. However, TV host Jeannie Mai praised Prince William’s brother for doing it because it’s the right to do.

Mai pointed out how wealthy Prince Harry is and he could afford to fuel his house with power as much as he wanted but he still chose to conserve energy. For this reason, she admitted that she likes Prince Harry more because she respects people who “don’t want to waste.“

Prince William and Prince Harry have been very close, but the former seemed to always receive more favor than the latter. According to Katie Nicholl in her book “William and Harry,” the brothers had their first serious rift when Prince Harry resented the fact that “he had been blamed for everything while William got away scot-free.”

Also, the duo had the image of a “good prince and bad prince.” According to Evening Standard royal editor Robert Jobson, between the two, Prince Harry was labeled the “bad prince.”
