Princess Diana did not expect the excessive media attention she received and was not flattered by it.

The Princess of Wales was one of the most photographed women when she was still alive. The media always followed her. In fact, her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, blamed the paparazzi for her accident because they were chasing after her car when the crash happened.

In an interview, Princess Diana said that it was “daunting.” She also revealed that she didn’t expect the attention she received after marrying Prince Charles.

“Yes, I was very daunted because as far as I was concerned I was a fat, chubby, 20-year-old, 21-year-old, and I couldn’t understand the level of interest,” Princess Diana said.

Princess Diana added that the pressure for them as a couple from the media was phenomenal. She also felt that it was misunderstood by many. She recalled the time when they were in Australia and when she’s on the other side, the people would exclaim, “Oh, she’s on the other side.” Most of them only noticed her.

“Now, if you’re a man, like my husband a proud man, you mind about that if you hear it every day for four weeks. And you feel low about it, instead of feeling happy and sharing it,” Princess Diana added.

Princess Diana eventually outshone Prince Charles. Sources said that the future king was not happy because he didn’t want to share the spotlight with his wife. For Princess Diana, she felt that it was “very uncomfortable” for her because she wanted to share. She also addressed the issue about the idea that the excessive media attention flattered her.

“No, not particularly, because with the media attention came a lot of jealousy, a great deal of complicated situations arose because of that,” she explained.

According to Princess Diana’s former boss, she was “head over heels in love” with Prince Charles. Mary Robertson assumed that things would work out beautifully for Prince William and Prince Harry’s parents, but it did not because the future king didn’t learn to love the People’s Princess.

Netizens believed that the Prince and Princess of Wales never had a decent relationship after their divorce. Once said that they didn’t have a relationship at all after they parted ways.
