Princess Leia of "Star Wars" trended on Twitter after Lady Gaga's recent appearance at the United States Capitol in Washington D.C.

Lady Gaga will be one of the celebrity performers for President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration on Wednesday. A day before the momentous occasion, the "Chromatica" singer visited the U.S. Capitol Building.

Netizens were quick to notice the singer's appearance, which resembled Princess Leia, the famous "Star Wars" movie royalty. Lady Gaga, who donned a white cape coat matched with a white face mask, had her braided similarly as the princess'.

Lady Gaga's Princess Leia-like outfit received multiple positive comments from netizens on Twitter, including "Star Wars" and Lady Gaga supporters.

"Lady Gaga is going full Princess Leia, and I am 100% here for it," one netizen wrote. "A New Hope, indeed."

A netizen also tweeted that Lady Gaga's pictures at the U.S. Capitol have exuded a Princess Leia vibe.

Another netizen, who posted a snapshot of the singer having a conversation with a National Guard troop, tweeted that the scenario has given them strong "Star Wars" energy.

"Princess Leia Organa was one of the Rebel Alliance's greatest leaders," a "Star Wars" fan tweeted. Then she went on describing the princess as "fearless on the battlefield and dedicated to ending the tyranny of the Empire."

Princess Leia wanted to take down the cruelty of the Empire and bring peace. One way or another, Lady Gaga wanted the same for the people of America.

"I pray tomorrow will be a day of peace for all Americans," Lady Gaga tweeted. "A day for love, not hatred."

She also prayed for the inauguration to be a day of acceptance instead of fear and a day for the people of America to dream of future joy for the country.

The award-winning actress, who supports a multitude of charities and humanitarian organizations including UNICEF, said she hopes for all Americans to have a non-violent and safe dream.

Lady Gaga, who has been a vocal supporter of Biden, will be singing the National Anthem at the inauguration, People reported.
