Those who follow the British royal family likely know how each member is connected to the next, but what you may not know is that many of them also have connections to celebrities as well. Here, we'll take a look at some lesser-know relationships that may surprise you.

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall

According to Hello Magazine, Celine Dion is the royal's ninth cousin. The "My Heart Will Go On" singer and the Duchess are said to both be descendants of Zacharie Cloutier. Madonna and the royal are also said to come from the 17th French-Canadian bloodline of Madeleine Ernard and Cloutier, which would make them ninth cousins. Additionally, actress Angelina Jolie is also said to be a ninth cousin of the Duchess.

Queen Elizabeth II

"Pirates of the Caribbean" actor Johnny Depp is the 20th cousin of the monarch, which was revealed in a 2011 episode of "Who Do You Think You Are?" This is due to the fact that a branch of the actor's ancestors descended from Sir William Gascoigne and his wife, both aristocrats who resided in Yorkshire in the 15th Century. Beyoncé is also said to be related to the Queen. They are connected by Henry II, which makes them 25th cousins once removed.

Princess Diana

The People's Princess was an 11th cousin twice removed to former U.S. President George W. Bush, according to Hello Magazine.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex

Meghan Markle shares a familial tie with Boston Red Sox player Mookie Betts. In June, the pair was able to meet for the first time at London Stadium where they shared a hug. Their distant connection, which was revealed in May 2018, goes back 150 years in Alabama. Additionally, they also have a link thanks to a 1920 marriage between Meghan's great-great-aunt and Mookie's great-uncle.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge

Kate Middleton is said to be sixth cousins with English film director Guy Ritchie. A book about Kate's ancestry by The New England Historic Genealogical Society in Boston shared that not only is the royal related to Ritchie, but she also shares a connection with talk show host Ellen Degeneres and Francis Scott Key, writer of "The Star-Spangled Banner."

Prince Charles

Ralph Fiennes, star of "The Handmaid's Tale," is said to be eighth cousins with this particular member of the royal family. This is due to the fact that they are both descendants of King James II of Scotland.
