A 49-year-old radio personality in Texas' Dallas-Fort Worth area was charged after images of him engaging in "sexual conduct" with a minor girl were found in his laptop, state prosecutors announced Thursday,
Clois Glenn Raborn, a radio DJ known for his appearances on 97-1 The Eagle's "The Russ Martin Show," was charged with production of child pornography Wednesday via a criminal complaint, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Chad E. Meacham said in a statement.
Authorities started an investigation into Raborn in March last year after his roommate discovered "lewd images of minor children" on the radio personality's laptop, the statement read.
Law enforcement agencies then conducted a forensic analysis of the laptop and found images of an adult male — believed to be Raborn — "engaging in sexual conduct" with a "young child," the complaint said.
The child's mother later confirmed that her daughter was the minor featured in the photos based on images of her face and other items. Additionally, the mother told law enforcement that she recognized Raborn's hand in some of the images.
The minor was between 4 to 6 years old when the images were taken, prosecutors said.
Raborn made his initial court appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeffrey Cureton Thursday afternoon. A detention hearing has been set for next Wednesday morning.
The radio DJ can face up to 30 years in federal prison should he be convicted.
The investigation into Raborn was conducted by the Dallas Field Office of the U.S. Secret Service as well as the Euless Police Department.
In a similar story, a 41-year-old former police officer in Bossier, Louisiana, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in November 2021 for possessing child pornography and sexually abusing his dog.
Terry Yetman, a former patrol division officer with the Bossier Police Department, received a four-year sentence on each of his five counts of sexual abuse of animals on Nov. 23 last year. The sentences will run consecutively for 20 years.
District Judge Michael Craig also sentenced him to 20 years on one count of possession of child pornography, which will run concurrently with his other sentences.
Yetman was arrested in December 2018 following accusations that he engaged in sexual conduct with his dog, a Belgian Malinois named Boss, and possessed pornographic images of a person committing the same act.
