“Carol” star Rooney Mara is finally and officially engaged to longtime boyfriend “Her” actor Joaquin Phoenix after being together for three years.

The duo first met when they worked together on the set of the 2013 film “Her.” They met again when Mara, 34, played Mary Magdalene in the 2016 “Mary Magdalene” film with Phoenix, 44, as Jesus. The couple shortly after started dating. They made their red carpet debut in May 2017 at the Cannes Film Festival’s closing ceremony, and this confirmed their dating status.

During the film festival, it was reported that the two were seen talking to each other nonstop. Phoenix had also been holding Mara’s hand while making their way to their car as if it was an unconscious decision. But despite the confirmation, the couple kept a pretty low profile and private relationship.

“The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” actress was spotted two months ago wearing a gigantic diamond ring in full view on her left hand when she ran around the streets of Los Angeles doing errands and carrying a “Go Vegan” bag.

The “Joker” star confirmed in an interview with The New York Times that he and the “Social Network” actress were living together in the Hollywood Hills. It has also been reported by an insider to Us Weekly that the quiet couple doesn’t really like to go out. They primarily just prefer to be with each other in their own bubble.

A Twitter user wittily said in a tweet the the Joker had just found his Harley Quinn.

Another tweet commented that the couple are “so cute!”

A different user also humorously said in a tweet that the wedding hashtag for Mara and Phoenix is #MaryMeJesus.

“Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix is the type of Hollywood couple s--t I'm kinda into tbh,” another fan commented on the couple.

Both Rooney and Joaquin are quite busy with their separate projects at the moment.

The actress’s Somalia movie “A House in the Sky,” the story about Amanda Lindhout’s 15-month imprisonment, is in pre-production. Phoenix, on the other hand, is busy working on “Far Bright Star” and is set to play Arthur Fleck in the new Warner Bros. “Joker” movie which is set to hit the big screen in October.
