Sarah Ferguson reportedly didn't receive fair treatment from Princess Margaret after she and Prince Andrew split.

Judy Wade, a writer and royal journalist, previously claimed in the 1997 documentary "Fergie: Downfall of the Duchess" that Ferguson sent flowers to Princess Margaret shortly after she and Prince Andrew parted ways. However, the Duchess of York didn't receive a warm response from the Queen's sister.

"The Duchess of York had sent flowers to Princess Margaret with a little note, no doubt trying to renew their once good friendship and the flowers had been sent straight back with a note from Princess Margaret saying 'how dare you send me flowers, have you ever considered what damage you have done to the Royal Family?'" Wade revealed (via Express).

"And I thought that was the worst example of a pot calling a kettle black in history because in the 50s and 60s Princess Margaret was notorious for her behaviour, it was totally out of keeping with her position," Wade added. "So I think Princess Margaret was cruelly unfair to do such a thing when it was a kind gesture from Sarah, very well intentioned, and I think that indicates exactly how the Royal Family treats somebody who steps out of line, except if they’re born royal."

Ferguson was caught in a scandalous photo with her financial advisor, John Bryan. According to several experts, it was the reason why the Duke and Duchess of York's marriage ended in divorce.

"She was famously photographed with her financial advisor and she was wearing a bikini in some garden in the south of France and he appeared to be sucking her toes," royal biographer Penny Juror said in a documentary. "She was at Balmoral when those photographs came out. The family came down for breakfast and there was Fergie in this shocking scene and that was the end."

Despite Ferguson's controversial photo and divorce from Prince Andrew, the exes remain amicable. In fact, the Duchess of York still calls the duke a family. However, Prince Philip has not forgiven the duchess yet.

Prince Philip and Ferguson are reportedly avoiding each other. In fact, some are concerned that their rift will cause a family friction at Princess Eugenie’s royal wedding.
