Shakira was supposed to be a part of the iHeartRadio Music Festival this weekend in Las Vegas, but has dropped out. But don’t get mad at her just yet. The singer has a pretty legitimate reason. Shakira is pregnant and expecting her first child with boyfriend, FC Barcelona soccer player Gerad Pique.

The two met in 2010 after he was featured in the music video for her South Africa World Cup theme song “Waka Waka (This Time For Africa).”

“I was really looking forward to the amazing #iHeartRadio Music Festival, but will see you guys soon! Shak,” the “Hips Don’t Lie” songstress wrote on Twitter to more than 18 million followers.

Fans of the couple are already sending congrats on Twitter, as one user wrote to Pique’s account, “Congratulations @3gerardpique!!!! Gods Blessings to you and Shakira and your soon to be bundle of joy ...”

"As some of you may know, Gerard and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby! At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days,” Shakira posted on her official website.

In addition to expecting their firstborn, Shakira also has been named one of the newest judges on the hit talent competition "The Voice" along with Usher, as Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo will be taking season four off to focus on their music before rejoining the show.

Shakira seems to be thrilled about this latest role, writing on her Twitter account, "Thanks for your affectionate messages & good vibes! I'm so excited to be a part of #TheVoice next to such talented colleagues. Shak."
