Shameless season 5 spoilers
Deb (Emma Kenney, left) will show off her new boxing skills when "Shameless" airs episode 5 on Sunday, Feb. 8. Showtime

Fiona (Emmy Rossum) is married, Frank (William H. Macy) is broke and Debbie (Emma Kinney) is learning how to defend herself – that’s how episode 4 of “Shameless” concluded Sunday night. And according to the synopsis for next week’s installment, “Rite of Passage,” Season 5 of the hit Showtime series will follow up on those nail-biting story lines.

“Fiona and Gus (Steve Kazee) must navigate the awkwardness of their quickie wedding,” the episode 5 summary reveals. In episode 4 Steve admitted to Fiona that he was falling in love with her – and as it turned out, the feeling was mutual! Gus then proposed the idea of the two of them getting hitched even after only knowing each other for two weeks. Surprisingly enough Fiona agreed.

The duo rushed to the court house to get married before Fiona’s shift at the diner began. By the time episode 4 concluded, Fiona was starting to question her nuptials to Gus – not because she didn’t love him, but because her family wasn’t there to witness her big day. Unfortunately for Fiona, her plan to announce her marriage to the family will quickly unravel when her coworker OD’s on heroin, the synopsis teases.

Meanwhile, Frank will spend episode 5 avoiding Sammi (Emily Bergl), who is pretty annoyed when her dad falls through with his promise to buy her a new trailer. Frank assured his daughter that once his insurance money came in he would purchase her and his grandson a new home. But, per usual, Frank’s selfish ways led him to blow his earnings in one, wild night.

Debbie (Emma Kenny) will continue her training at the gym to learn how to defend herself, while Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) practices his drug fractions for his new and dangerous gig as a dealer. Ian (Cameron Monaghan) will also find himself working a new job as a porn star but from the looks of the promo video, Mickey (Noel Fisher) won’t be too excited for his beau's new career path.

“Mickey grows more concerned with Ian’s erratic behavior and asks Lip what to do,” the synopsis explains, adding that Lip (Jeremy Allen White) will decide to leave the drama in Chicago and go back to school early. Is that why Mickey will leave Lip high and dry after shooting up a local store?

Last but not least, Vee will encourage Kevin (Steve Howey) to get even following her dance floor rendezvous that lead to an orgasm.

Season 5, episode 5 of “Shameless” will air on Showtime Sunday, Feb. 8, at 9 p.m. EST.
