Shytoshi Kusama, the pseudonymous lead developer of Shiba Inu, as well as Unification, the team working behind the scene developing one of the ecosystem's upcoming projects, hinted at the possibility of the imminent release of Shibarium, with the former teasing "some surprises."

Former Growth Breed member and social media influencer who goes by the Twitter handle @LucieSHIB shared a screenshot of a recent comment made by Kusama on the official Shiba Inu Telegram channel, which hyped the community and had the Shib Army speculating.

"Everything is near," the Shiba Inu lead developer said, adding that, "even some surprises."

Whatever these "surprises" are is unknown at the moment, but it appears that it is only a matter of time before the Shiba Army could hear good news about the highly anticipated layer-2 solution, Shibarium.

"Shytoshi Kusama hints in Telegram that Shibarium may come with a surprise. It could be a wallet or a Shibanet... or something with Shiba Eternity. We'll see," the social media influencer and one of the most active Shib Army said in a tweet.

Aside from Kusama, some members of the Unification team are also giddy about Shibarium, with the operator of FUND REUMining Validator, who goes by the Twitter handle @RingoshiToitsu, tweeting about the "partnershib" and "unifying data together" on Monday.

"Unification / $FUND partnershib with #SHIBARMY on #Shibarium is a beautiful sight to see. We're Unifying Data together," the tweet read.

Moreover, it seems like the Unification team dropped some code recently, as pointed out by a Twitter user who goes by the name @_GingFreecs.

"Looks like Codegnosis from @UnificationUND team is working hard on Shibarium. Some code has been made public recently, can't wait to see how it works in the big picture," he tweeted Monday.

Details about the official announcement or the rollout of Shibarium documentation are still scarce at the moment as both the Shiba Inu development team and Unification are trying their best to keep things under wraps until the official launch of the project.

Kusama revealed in August 2021 that the Shiba Inu team had started working with Unification/XFund to complete Shibarium and disclosed that "a large team assigned to completing this in a timely fashion," noting that it "is no easy task to create a working blockchain."

After more than a year of working hard, it is safe to assume that Unification is already in the final stage of completing Shibarium, or perhaps, the team is already in the final testing phase.

The hype surrounding the announcement of Shibarium is positive news to the entire Shiba Inu community, which translated to the performance of SHIB, its native token.

As of 2:41 a.m. ET on Tuesday, SHIB was trading up 0.96% at $0.000008196 with a 24-hour volume of $89,434,800, according to the latest data from CoinMarketCap.
