Singer Sinead O’Connor has laid her 17-year-old son Shane O’Connor to rest one week after his body was discovered in Ireland.

On Saturday morning, O’Connor hinted to her Twitter followers that a funeral was held for her son. “We just said goodbye to our beautiful angel, Shaney. Very lovely Hindu ceremony. Shane will have loved it. He was always chanting ‘Om. Shanti,’” she wrote.

The singer revealed she also put packs of cigarettes in his coffin “in case there’s none in heaven. He’ll have loved that too.”

The “Nothing Compares 2 U” artist also went on to reveal she had been playing a mantra all week that was coincidently uploaded to YouTube on March 10, Shane O’Connor’s birthday.

The post comes after Sinead O’Connor shared a series of now-deleted tweets on Thursday in which resulted in some concern that she may have been suicidal.

“I’ve decided to follow my son. There is no point living without him. Everything I touch, I ruin. I only stayed for him. And now he’s gone,” the 55-year-old reportedly tweeted.

O’Connor later revealed that her posts led to authorities accompanying her to be hospitalized. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that. I am with cops now on way to the hospital. I’m sorry I upset everyone,” she tweeted.

O’Connor has previously shared her struggles with mental illness and past suicide attempts. O’Connor was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2003, and in 2015, she threatened to commit suicide in a Facebook post.

“I have taken an overdose,” she wrote at the time. “There is no other way to get respect. I am not at home, I’m at a hotel, somewhere in Ireland, under another name. If I wasn’t posting this, my kids and family wouldn’t ever find out.”

O’Connor’s rep later told Us Weekly she was “safe and well” following the concerning video.
