“Sister Wives” took fans of the hit TLC series on an emotional rollercoaster ride Sunday night. Not only did fans watch Kody Brown and Christine address their relationship issues in episode 6, as well as witness Robyn's pregnancy announcement, but viewers also looked on as Meri faced a frightening health scare in the Season 6 installment.

During episode 6, titled “Robyn’s Big Announcement,” Meri, Kody’s first sister wife, opened up in a confessional about her alarming and involuntary weight loss.

“Within about a six-week period I dropped 30 pounds, just really fast,” she revealed. “Of course, I’m not going to complain about that, but it does tell me something’s wrong.”

So, Meri explained that she made several doctor appointments and even scheduled a CAT scan to find out what was causing her stomach pains. However, physicians were having a difficult time trying to diagnose Meri’s discomfort.

"It's really frustrating," the “Sister Wives” star said. "Because I don't know why I'm having these issues."

However, during one of Meri’s many doctor visits, she was urged to see her gynecologist. During Meri's appointment, her OB/GYN, Dr. Guita Tabassi, revealed that she was concerned for Meri’s health after noticing “a little bit of thickening” of her patient’s cervix, which she spotted in the CAT scan.

“We can’t completely exclude cervical carcinoma [cervical cancer],” the doctor relayed the terrifying news, explaining that Meri would need to get a Pap smear, a screening test for cervical cancer, to determine if she had cancer. “That’s the first step.”

After the Pap smear, Dr. Tabassi told Meri that she didn’t think her tests would come back positive for cancer. “Nothing looked alarming,” the OB/GYN stated, adding that regardless of how things "looked" she was still going to send out the test to get a definitive results.

“It’s a lot to have going on,” Meri said in a confessional after her appointment. “It’s kind of heavy.”

However, the alarming medical scare didn’t prevent Meri from announcing the exciting news in episode 6 that Robyn and Kody were expecting their second child together.

“I love that @LuvgvsUwngs let me announce the baby to the family!” Meri said on Twitter after episode 6 aired. “That was a fun family dinner!!”

Fans will learn more about Meri’s medical condition when Season 6 of “Sister Wives” continues on Sunday nights at 9 p.m. EDT on TLC.
