Marvel has managed to create a universe that’s so rich and diverse, there are a lot of loose ends to be tied up. One of these is a "Star Wars" paradox which happened during "Spider-Man: Far From Home" and continued in "Avengers: Infinity War."

The paradox soon became a running joke. While "Endgame" and "Far From Home" did not address the issue, Marvel’s executives took it upon themselves to fix the problem.

The problem stems from actor Samuel L. Jackson’s performances in the MCU, BGR noted. Jackson portrays Nick Fury, while he portrayed the Jedi Master Mace Windu in the "Star Wars" films. Both universes now belong to Disney, so the surprise sprung during the first MCU Spider-Man movie.

The explanation — however weakly thought it may have been — is that Fury and ‘the actor’ Samuel L. Jackson are two different people who look alike. That’s the official explanation that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is standing by. It so happens that Samuel L. Jackson portrays Mace Windu in the "Star Wars: movies, which explains the similarity between Nick Fury and the Jedi Master.

Another famous paradox, according to We Got This Covered, is the similarities between all the characters that Stan Lee portrayed. In the franchise, he couldn’t have been the creator of these characters. A popular theory is that Lee’s character is an extra-dimensional being, sort of like a trickster in the same guise of Loki.

There’s also Ben Mendelsohn’s "Star Wars" character, another case of a person in the MCU playing somebody in the "Star Wars" universe. Mendelsohn portrayed Orson Krennic in "Rogue One," while he was the Skrull Talos in "Captain Marvel." His similarity to his real-world alter ego might be explained through his Skrull powers.

The Russos are credited for this explanation. Joe and Anthony Russo worked behind the scenes in four of the major MCU films, including two "Captain America" movies, and the most recent "Avengers" films. This gives them enough credibility to explain the similarities between Fury, Mendelsohn, Stan Lee, and the characters that exist in the real world—the actors who portrayed them and, in the case of Stan Lee's cameos, the real world Stan Lee.
