The opening scene of “Star Wars: Episode 9” has been changed, according to new leaks. The movie was initially supposed to open with a flash back sequence, but JJ Abrams appears to have chosen something more visually appealing in its place.

The following article contains spoilers of “Star Wars: Episode 9.”

Fans who have been following the leaks of the upcoming film know that the movie was supposed to start with Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) training, which reveals that she was training to be a Jedi. However, according to Bespin Bulletin, this scene has either been cut or moved to make room for another big scene.

The film now begins on the dead planet of Exogol, where the Emperor (Ian McDiarmid) has been hiding all these years. The scene only shows a control tower rising from the ground and then a rumbling sound from below the ground is heard. The Sith fleet of Star Destroyers then emerges from the planet surface.

The other changes in “Star Wars: Episode 9” are related to Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and how he gets the wayfinder device. The action sequences of the Supreme Leader killing the natives of a swamp planet have been toned down and he will find the device in a chest in a castle. The Emperor will call to him when he gets the device.

The control tower that is seen in the opening sequence will play a role in the last act of the movie. The heroes have to destroy the tower in order to stop the Sith fleet from leaving the Unknown Regions and spreading chaos across the galaxy.

As far as Luke and Leia training sequence is concerned, Bespin Bulletin confirmed that it has been moved to the part of the movie where Luke tells Rey (Daisy Ridley) about it. This is also the moment when the Resistance General will realize that she is pregnant.

Meanwhile, the reshoots of “Star Wars: Episode 9” have wrapped. The next trailer of the film is expected to be released on Monday.
