  • The next "Star Wars" TV series will be about Obi-Wan Kenobi
  • Jar Jar Binks will return, according to a leak
  • The Gungan wil have a beard

With the success of “The Mandalorian,” Disney is preparing for another big “Star Wars” TV series. The new show will be about the Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi, and new details about the project have surfaced online.

The following article contains spoilers about the upcoming “Star Wars: Kenobi” TV series.

Ewan McGregor is set to reprise his role as Obi-Wan in the upcoming TV series. However, he may not be the only familiar character on the show. According to Making Star Wars, the prequel trilogy character Jar Jar Binks may also be back.

Sources familiar with the production of the show have reportedly confirmed that Kenobi will meet Jar Jar at some point in the story. The character will be created using CGI, and it isn’t clear if Ahmed Best will be returning to voice the character.

Jar Jar Binks will reportedly have a beard this time around to show that time has passed from the prequel films. The character from Naboo and the Jedi master will chat about the past in the Obi-Wan Kenobi spinoff.

The whole galaxy was deceived into helping Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) become the Emperor and turn the Republic into a tyrannical Empire. Jar Jar played a key role in helping Darth Sidios gain power back then.

According to Screen Rant, the upcoming TV series will be set between “Revenge of the Sith” and “A New Hope.” Jar Jar is expected to have a different personality because not only did he help Palpatine gain power but he also knew Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) since he was a boy.

It will be interesting to see how the fans react to the news of Jar Jar’s return. The character is one of the most despised in “Star Wars,” CBR reported, and people still make fun of the Gungan.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi spinoff doesn’t have a release date yet. The show will be available on the Disney+ streaming platform.
