  • The "Melania and Me" author said the FLOTUS' betrayal broke her emotionally, physically and financially
  • Wolkoff said the issue mattered to her because she considered Melania as her friend

Melania Trump's former advisor and friend Stephanie Winston Wolkoff revisited their falling-out in a tweet and discussed how the FLOTUS left her broken.

Wolkoff, the author of "Melania and Me," took to Twitter and shared how she felt after the FLOTUS allegedly betrayed her. The two used to be good friends, but Wolkoff felt that Melania threw her to the wolves when she didn't help her following the 2017 inauguration controversy. Wolkoff was accused of overspending for the event that she worked on alongside the FLOTUS. The incident caused her to be kicked out of the White House.

"Melania and Me: @FLOTUS You shattered me and the TRUTH into bits and pieces. Your betrayal cut deep, ultimately, breaking me emotionally, physically and financially. I will always remember but will recover. You were the First Lady of the U.S.A. and my friend. That mattered to me," she wrote on Twitter Tuesday.

"Let me be very clear - I DO NOT CARE. I take full responsibility in every way, shape and form. I am pointing out that the TRUTH MATTERS above all- and that goes for the entire Trump Clan," she added.

Wolkoff received support and comforting messages from other online users. They were sorry for what happened to her. Many also slammed the first lady and sided with Wolkoff.

"I’m sorry this happened to you. It’s just amazing to me that there are people who don’t see people’s true colors when they are right there to be seen. Melania is a bad person and married to a mobster con artist. Neither have any loyalty to anything but themselves," one commented.

"You knew it was a grifter family… So in the future, best to be more discerning about the company you keep. You will make it because you’re on the side of right now," another added.

"Bad choices... lessons learned... you can hold your head high... she can never. Truth matters," another stated.

A different netizen said she just finished reading Wolkoff’s book and called the Trumps superficial. "They are a disappointment and Donald has a cruelty in him that he needs to control. Melania has hardened her heart through the years and her eyes show it," the netizen added.

In December, Wolkoff appeared on Molly Jong-Fast's "The New Abnormal" podcast. During her guesting, she recalled how Melania betrayed her and regretted not seeing her true colors early on.

"I begged her to just come out and say that I was her friend, I was loyal. Nope, nothing. So the betrayal, the pain of that was like—I gave up my whole life for this woman. No one else would help Melania. I mean, she was alone," Wolkoff said.

"I should've known better. She is just like her husband."
