  • Bang Chan's latest broadcast for "Chan's Room" featured Jungkook's "Stay Alive"
  • Both are 24 years old but Jungkook debuted earlier than Bang Chan
  • Fans praised Chan for verbalizing his admiration for the esteemed BTS member

Stray Kids’ leader Bang Chan admires BTS’ Jungkook and considers him one of the best performers in the highly competitive K-pop industry.

The 24-year-old “God’s Menu” singer took to VLive for his regular broadcast of “Chan’s Room” on Sunday’s broadcast and discussed the qualities he admires most about BTS’ youngest member, Jungkook.

“I feel like he’s just top tier out of like, just like the whole industry. He’s good at everything. He’s the same age but like I’ve looked up to him ever since I was a trainee as well,” Chan said as he listened to “Stay Alive,” the soundtrack of the septet’s webtoon, “7Fates: CHAKHO,” sung by Jungkook and produced by Suga.

Chan and Jungkook are both 24 but the latter debuted in the music industry in 2013 while Chan entered the music scene in 2017 after winning the reality show of the same name led by JYP Entertainment. Jungkook was 15 when he first performed with the rest of the members of BTS while Chan debuted with Stray Kids at 20.

“You have to admit, he’s good at everything. I’ve been listening to this song, even between schedules these days, because the song is just so good,” he said.

This is not the first time Chan gushed over a song performed by Jungkook. In 2020, he praised Jungkook’s recording of “Euphoria” and explained why he likes the song.

“First, the lyrics are just so beautiful. I think it’s a song that really, really gives me strength,” he said. “And, the song, it gives you lots of energy when you listen to it. When I’m working, or if things don’t go the way I pictured, I’d listen to this song, and I feel very very good. It makes me feel so much better,” he continued.

On Twitter, fans of both groups praised the singers and wished for future collaboration between the two.

"Bang Chan of Stray Kids praised Jungkook & “Stay Alive”, playing the song during his live “I feel like he’s like the top tier of the whole industry. He’s good at everything. He’s the same age (as me) — but I’ve looked up to him ever since I was a trainee” a fan wrote, tweeting a snippet of Chan describing Jungkook as "top tier."

Another one wrote, “hello Bang Chan just praised Jungkook…Pls universe!!!”
