The mysterious death of an 18-year-old Brazillian mother while having sex in the shower with her 19-year-old husband has baffled authorities, prompting an investigation.

Vitoria Costa de Castro, a mother to a 2-month-old baby, met her sudden demise in the middle of a sexual act at her home in Sao Vicente, Brazil.

According to her husband, whose name has not been released, they just finished having sex in the bedroom when they decided to get into the shower together for another round. However, de Castro passed out during the act and became unconscious, a report from News.com.au said.

After de Castro collapsed, her husband called her father. He called the police afterward. They soon arrived at the scene.

Medics also arrived at the home and tried to resuscitate de Castro as soon they could, but they were unsuccessful.

She was pronounced dead at the scene during the early hours of March 18. Medics said de Castro's body had no bruising or any indication of physical violence inflicted on her, so it is not known what had led to her death.

Her family said de Castro had no known medical condition. They said she was the type of person who did not drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes or take any drugs.

However, officials have come up with a theory on what took place.

Preliminary evidence suggests that de Castro had an undiagnosed heart condition, which could have led to her death. According to a report from Knewz, doctors believe that she suffered from arrhythmia, a condition in which someone has an irregular heartbeat.

The authorities suspect that de Castro's heart started to race while having sex with her husband in the shower. This would have caused a drastic upward spike in her blood pressure and led to her lungs being overworked, eventually causing her death.

Although de Castro's death is not considered suspicious or criminal at the moment, authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
