‘Supernatural’ Season 10 Spoilers: New Character Added To Hunt Down Demon Dean; Who Is Cole?

“Supernatural” will be returning to The CW with its Season 10 premiere on Oct. 7 – and, according to the show’s executive producer, the coming season will bring with it a new character. During the 2014 Summer TCA Press Tour, Jeremy Carver teased fans with new facts about the tenth season of our favorite mystical series – specifically about Demon Dean’s latest enemy.

When Season 10 premieres, episode 1 will revolve around the storyline of Sam Winchester tracking down his black-eyed brother. For those who don’t remember (but seriously, how could you forget?) Dean was killed in the Season 9 finale by Metatron but somehow, thanks to the First Blade, Sam’s brother survived the attack by evolving into the creature he detests the most: a demon.

Sam won’t be the only one hunting down his newly transformed brother. Carver teased that “there is another mysterious character” who is hot on Dean’s trail. The question is: Who else is chasing down Dean?

“Well, I can tell you that he's kind of cool and his name is Cole,” Carver revealed to Zap2It. “He is someone from Dean's past who is looking for Dean for reasons totally unrelated to what's going on with the demon/Mark of Cain story. He's a guy that has a terrific amount of hunting skills, but he's not a hunter in our sense of the word. He has no idea that the monster world exists, so imagine his surprise when he comes across the man he's been hunting and he is something other than human. He's a pretty cool character.”

So is this Cole character here to do Dean harm? We’re not sure – nor do we know the name of the actor taking on the role of Cole.

Although Carver admitted that the character had been cast, “Supernatural” is keeping the name of this lucky actor mum for now.
