  • "Everything isn't for social media," Adrienne Houghton said
  • She called Braxton’s hospitalization "a really delicate situation"
  • Braxton was allegedly transferred to a mental health facility following an alleged suicide attempt

Days after Tamar Braxton was allegedly transferred to a mental health facility following an alleged suicide attempt, her "The Real" co-star, Adrienne Houghton, revealed the reason for not saying anything about it.

On "Ask Adrienne Live," Houghton said, "I know there was a lot of questions, coming on here specifically, about Tamar, and I just think for me, everything isn't for Instagram, everything isn't for social media. And I know you guys know that. I think it's important to know that real life is so much more important than social media. So for me, I hold myself to a higher standard in real life than I do on social media," she said, Entertainment Tonight reported.

Calling Braxton’s hospitalization "a really delicate situation," Houghton added, "I absolutely think that we all should be praying for her, but not praying for her on social media posts. Pray for her in real life. So that, to me, is important. Reaching out to somebody in real life is important."

On July 16, Braxton was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital after she was found "unresponsive" in her hotel room by her boyfriend, David Adefeso. He allegedly told the investigators he believes his girlfriend may have attempted suicide.

The following day, the Los Angeles Police Department told ET they received a call around 9:45 p.m. the previous night "in regards to a medical emergency."

Blast obtained a message that the 43-year-old former "The Real" host had allegedly sent to her family hours before her alleged suicide attempt.

"I am a slave. I do not own my life. My stories. My pictures. My thoughts or beliefs. I’ve asked my massa to free me. I’m threatened and punished for it. The only way I see out is death. I will choose that before I continue to [live] like this. please help me," the message read.

A source told E! News on Tuesday that Braxton was "awake and communicating." Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Braxton told Page Six that she has been "transferred to another facility for further evaluation and treatment."
