An Alaska teen has been charged with multiple counts of first-degree murder after shooting four members of this family on Monday.

Malachi Maxon, 18, shot his aunt and three of his cousins at their homes in Palmer and Wasilla in Alaska. He had just been out of jail for a week and was under pre-trial electronic monitoring for a domestic violence charge when the shootings took place.

At 3:00 a.m., Alaska State Troopers responded to a report about the first shooting at the Wasilla home. Cody Roehl, Maxon's 18-year-old cousin, was found shot but still alive, according to a sworn affidavit filed by Ted Nordgaarden, an Alaska State Troopers investigator.

Roehl was taken to a nearby hospital but did not survive.

Maxon was at the home earlier that evening and he had "no altercation, verbal or physical" with the family members, according to the court affidavit. However, one of Roehl's family members heard a loud noise downstairs and found out that Roehl had been shot on the couch, reported Anchorage Daily News.

A Glock pistol and a white jeep were reported missing from the scene. The investigation found out from surveillance footage that Maxon had fled the house in a white Jeep Liberty shortly after the shooting.

After 3:30 a.m., the Palmer Police Department received reports of multiple shootings at a North Valley Way. Investigators later discovered that Maxon had reached the home in Palmer around the same time.

The officers arrived at the scene and found the house's front window broken. They also discovered that three more people had been shot dead. The victims were identified as Kimora Buster, Maxon's 43-year-old aunt, and his cousins Ellison and Sienna, aged 7 and 10, respectively.

A third child at the home was left uninjured, although evidence suggested that Maxon had also attempted to shoot the child.

The police later arrested Maxon while he was driving on the Glenn Highway, on the same Jeep which had been reported missing from the crime scene in Wasilla. While being transported, Maxon tried to escape by grabbing an officer's gun. The officers restrained him and transported him to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.

Maxon has been charged with four counts of murder in the first degree, a count of attempted murder, assault in the third degree on an LEO, attempted escape, vehicle theft in the first degree and theft in the second degree.
