Eidos Montreal, developer of "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" and "Tomb Raider," has announced a Feb. 25, 2014, release date for "Thief," a reboot of the "Thief" stealth series of games that date back to 1998 with the release of the original "Thief." "Thief" will be released for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Xbox One and PS4.

"Thief" will once again put you in the role of Garrett a master thief who lives in a world where the rich live lavishly and the poor are left to fend for themselves. As Garrett, you'll often be stealing from the wealthy in order to enrich yourself. What, you were expecting Robin Hood?

In "Thief," the game world's shadows will be one of your best friends. Light plays a big factor in "Thief." If you happen to be in a lit or well-lit area, the chance of your being spotted by guards is increased dramatically. Stick into the shadows and you'll likely go undetected.

Sound can also be either a close ally or a deceptive foe in "Thief." Walking on loud surfaces like metal or hardwood will produce the sound of footsteps, which could alert nearby baddies. Other surfaces like carpeting can work with you to keep your location and presence a secret. We don't know whether the Moss Arrow, which could be used to produce a soft, quiet surface for you to walk on, will make its return to the "Thief" reboot next year.

Weapons that will be returning to "Thief" include the bow and arrow, crowbar and broadhead arrows. Water arrows can be used to extinguish nearby torches, providing you with shadows to hide in. Rope arrows can allow you to climb and reach areas that you couldn't figure out how to get to otherwise.
