Australian actress Toni Collette announced that she and her husband, drummer Dave Galafassi are divorcing after 19 years of marriage.

"It is with grace and gratitude that we announce we are divorcing," the 50-year-old actress captioned a photo of "Peace and Love" written on a wall, posted Wednesday on Instagram. "We're united in our decision and part with continuing respect and care for each other."

Collette added, "Our kids are of paramount importance to us and we will continue to thrive as a family, albeit a different shape. We're thankful for the space and love you grant us as we evolve and move through this transition peacefully. Big thanks. Toni Collette and David Galafassi."

The divorce announcement came after photos of Galafassi kissing another woman on a beach in Sydney were shared on The Daily Mail.

Following the divorce announcement, fans supported Collette's decision. One of the Instagram users commented, "Yep, I would divorce my husband too if he cheated. You deserve better Collette!!!" while another one added, "I wish you all a great life !! i respect you decision. big hugs !! sending love from peru."

The estranged couple share two kids - Sage Florence, 14, and Arlo Robert, 11. Collette got married to Galfassi in 2003 and welcomed their first baby in January 2008.

"We're completely over the moon," she said about having her first baby with Galfassi at that time, People reported. "It is strange, the last three films I've done I have been pregnant. I'm just like, what is the universe trying to tell me? But I think everything happens when it's meant to."

They later welcomed a baby boy in April 2011.

On the work front, Collette starred in two TV series this year, "Pieces of Her" and "The Staircase." She also worked in a comedy movie, "The Estate," which was released last month.

Considering her upcoming projects, the actress will be seen in movies like "Mafia Mamma" and "Mickey 17." While "Mafia Mamma" is an action-comedy flick under post-production, "Mickey 17" is a sci-fi drama expected to release in 2024. She will also feature in a TV series, "The Power," which is currently under post-production.
