KEY POINTS

  • Type 2 diabetes can lead to a lot of health complications
  • When the symptoms appear, they immediately pay their doctors a visit, thereby minimizing worse health issues
  • One famous doctor however said that type 2 diabetes can occur without symptoms

Type 2 diabetes is one condition that would require patients to be vigilant. This is because the disease could present a lot of symptoms, the most common of which would include a wound that does not heal easily, fatigue, weight loss, and a lot more.

However, one famous health practitioner, Dr. Dawn Harper, revealed to Express that patients could suffer from the condition and yet they won’t even know that they are already diabetic. Why? This is because the condition might not show any symptoms at all.

New Research

New research made by Simplyhealth, where Dr. Harper is the ambassador, revealed that among individuals who get sick, only 16% would see their doctor right away. The average Briton would wait till about two weeks before he would go and pay the doctor a visit.

The latter practice causes many Britons to suffer from their illnesses longer as compared to those who immediately sought medical intervention. One out of five admitted that they would punt on going to the doctor as they have tons of other commitments. While this may sound alright for as long as you are in really great health, the same principle could not be applied to type 2 diabetes.

Type 2 Diabetes Symptoms

According to Dr. Harper, there are so many people out there today who are freely walking around, not even knowing that they are already suffering from type 2 diabetes. These patients exhibit no symptoms at all.
