Tyra Banks was sorry for the mean comments she made in the resurfaced “America’s Next Top Model” clips.

Many people have been in isolation for months and many are so bored that they tend to revisit old clips and songs. In fact, Mariah Carey’s 2008 album “E=MC²” ranked no. 1 on iTunes 12 years after it was released. Britney Spears’ 2016 album “Glory” also climbed up to iTunes’ top spot last week.

Banks’ old clips of her making harsh comments on “ANTM” have also resurfaced. In one video, she can be seen telling Dani Evans that she would never become a model due to the gap in her front teeth.

“Do you really think you can have a CoverGirl contract with a gap in your mouth?” Banks said in the clip (via Variety). “It’s not marketable.”

Banks took to Twitter to address the “ANTM” clips that are making the rounds online. She admitted that her words were mean and thanked fans for their honest feedback to what she did.

“Been seeing the posts about the insensitivity of some past ‘ANTM’ moments and I agree with you. Looking back, those were some really off choices. Appreciate your honest feedback and am sending so much love and virtual hugs,” she wrote.

Several online users agreed that Banks made demeaning comments on the show. Many even cited a particular incident involving one model who refused to wear a fake African hat because she felt that it wasn’t true to her culture.

“You should’ve understood her p.o.v,” one social media user commented.

Meanwhile, some defended Banks. According to them, she did it on purpose. She wanted to prepare the aspiring models because modeling is not easy.

“What y’all don’t understand is that if she threw that fit in front of an actual photographer for a fashion line, she would be fired ASAP. Tyra was preparing them for the modeling industry, not torturing them for fun. Grow up pls, not everyone is evil,” a fan wrote.

Banks’ followers have different opinions on the issue. Some wanted her to apologize while others were convinced that it wasn’t necessary.

“You don’t even have to apologize. It was a different time AND for entertainment value!” @ninas420life wrote.

“No she has to apologize,” another commented.

Meanwhile, several also said that it was a different time when Tyra made those comments and timing really matters.

“It was a different time Tyra when people weren’t offended by everything. Big of you to even acknowledge it. I think the big issue of our current times is cancel culture. How about we focus on that?” @inmytvfeelings wrote.

“Exactly. Nowdays people pick at everything and look for things to be offended by. Gives them validation I guess. Move on, that was years ago. There are more important things that a reality show,” @MoonbeamKeishla agreed.
