Viewers of this week’s Ubisoft Forward showcase are getting a big freebie when they watch the event as it happens. A PC version of “Watch Dogs 2,” the third-person action-adventure game from 2016, will be yours for free.

Ubisoft Forward is the company’s big streaming event that promises more details on other titles including “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” and “Hyper Scape” as well as other upcoming Ubisoft games. Knowing they had to sweeten the pot, however, Ubisoft is adding the free “Watch Dogs 2” to the event, Engadget reports.

If you log in with your Uplay account during the main Ubisoft Forward stream, which gets underway at 3:00 p.m. ET, the hacking-centered game is yours.

Ubisoft will also be testing your trivia knowledge during the stream. The company will be giving away other goodies for other games to some people who answer trivia questions correctly while watching. There will be a 90-minute pre-show, which starts at 1:30 p.m.

The sequel to 2014’s “Watch Dogs,” “ Watch Dogs 2 ” is an action-adventure game with stealth elements. It is played from a third-person perspective as players take control of young hacker Marcus Holloway. The game features an open world set in a fictionalized version of the San Francisco Bay Area, an area more than twice as large as the Chicago setting from the first “Watch Dogs.”

Players can navigate the game's world on-foot or by the various vehicles featured in the game, such as cars, trucks, buses, cable cars, motorcycles, quad bikes, and boats. Marcus also has improved acrobatic skills, and the ability to parkour around the city.

The long-awaited third installment in the series, “Watch Dogs: Legion” will also be discussed at Ubisoft Forward, notes Engadget. Ubisoft had previously announced that game back at E3 2019 with plans of dropping it in March. The launch date has been pushed back to a later date, presumably due to the global pandemic.

Set in a fictional version of London, “Watch Dogs: Legion” will also be set in an open world from a third-person perspective. “Watch Dogs: Legion” will feature the ability to control multiple characters that can be recruited across the game's setting and who can be permanently lost during the course of a playthrough. The game will also feature a cooperative multiplayer that will allow up to four players to work together.

Ubisoft Forward might provide a definitive release date for “Watch Dogs: Legion” this year.
