A Ukrainian woman was killed and her boyfriends’ legs were severed when a train ran over both of them while they were having sex on railroad tracks in the southeastern city of Zaporozhye.

According to the Russian news agency Ria Novosti, the couple, who have not yet been identified by police, are believed to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. The man, 41, told police that he and his girlfriend had been walking home together Friday night from visiting a friend when things took a turn for the romantic, and they decided to make love on nearby train tracks.

He reportedly told police, “Returning from our friends', my girlfriend and I could not overcome our passionate nature and wanted to feel a sense of thrill near a railway track.”

Ukraine’s Interior Ministry addressed the incident in a post on its website, writing that the woman, estimated to be in her mid-thirties, was killed instantly early Saturday morning when she was struck by a switcher locomotive. The report stated that the man lost both of his legs and was in the hospital for treatment.

To make matters worse, police are reportedly considering charging him with illegally trespassing for the nighttime romp, the Daily Mirror reported. However, it’s not the first time that train tracks have proven a dangerous attraction.

According to the Huffington Post, a train in Morrum, Sweden, was forced to stop last year when its driver mistook a pair of lovers having sex in a car next to the tracks for a person attempting suicide. "Often when cars are sitting near the tracks, it can be copper thieves at work or, unfortunately, a person who has tired of life," the train’s dispatcher Mattias Hellberg told Sveriges Radio. "[However, this time] it was two people who were very happy and having a little moment of passion.”
