  • Picture appeared online late Sunday of alleged Dualshock 5
  • Picture also includes reported PS5 devkit
  • Leak dropped ahead of Sony's CES 2020 press conference

New photos of the purported PlayStation 5 devkit controller have leaked online, offering a fresh look at what gamers could be getting their hands in on.

The reported pictures appeared late Sunday night on the gaming-centric forum, ResetEra. The leaker said they were an officer cleaner who found a PS5 devkit left out at one of the desks in the office. The cleaner did not say who the office belonged to.

“My first cleaning of prototype 1 of PS5,” the post said. “Yes my job is a cleaner occasionally at U...” It also noted: “Please do not share this.”

The alleged controller lines up with a recent patent filing by Sony for the Dualshock 5 that would be packaged with the PS5. It describes the new controller as looking very similar to the PS4’s Dualshock 4, retaining the home button and touchpad that gave the Dualshock 4 a unique look and feature. However, it is said to be a bit “chunkier” than the previous controller.

The devkit pictured also lines up with leaks from August that described the physical design of the PS5 devkits being sent to game studios.

This new leak comes hours ahead of Sony’s CES 2020 press conference, which has promoted that “the future is coming” to the electronics trade show. It will be live-streamed starting at 8 p.m. ET on Monday on Sony’s official website.
