Looks like things are going to get a bit crowded in Alexandria when Season 6 of “The Walking Dead” premieres this fall. According to reports, audiences of the bloody AMC series will be introduced to a slew of new characters -- some of whom comic book readers may remember from Robert Kirkman’s beloved series of the same name.

For example, Dr. Denise Cloyd -- played by Merritt Wever, who won an Emmy for her role on “Nurse Jackie” -- will be rolling up her sleeves on “The Walking Dead” as a vital member of the community. In fact, Denise was on our wish list of comic book characters we wanted to see brought to life on the chilling drama.

Fans also will meet Denise's boyfriend Heath, who will be portrayed by “Straight Outta Compton” star Corey Hawkins. In the comics, Heath is one of Alexandria’s supply runners, who ultimately partners up with Glenn (Steven Yuen) to bring back necessities for the town.

“He’s terrific and I’m so excited to see him bring Heath to life,” Scott M. Gimple, “The Walking Dead” showrunner, told Entertainment Weekly. “It’s been fun and he dove in with both feet. He’s tough and skeptical when the cameras are rolling, and then when they’re off he’s just like a goofy fan. He’s really, really excited to be there.”

Fans will also welcome “Grace and Frankie” actor Ethan Embry to the Season 6 storyline as he takes on the role of Carter.

“Ethan plays a combo of a few characters that we actually haven’t hit yet or weren’t able to hit in other characters,” Gimple revealed. “He is an Alexandrian, and has been there the whole time, just quite busy.”

Busy with what, exactly? Plotting a plan to rule Alexandria? Perhaps that’s why Carter is so upset when Rick barges in, barking orders.

In the lengthy Season 6 trailer, which was released during the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con, viewers watched as Carter questioned Rick’s (Andrew Lincoln) leadership.

“So were all just supposed to fall in line behind you?” the skeptical Alexandrian inquired.

Do you think the two will be able to put their differences and mistrust aside to work together during the post-apocalyptic chaos? Fans will find out when “The Walking Dead” returns with Season 6 to AMC on Sunday, Oct. 11.
