Get ready to dive back into AMC’s zombie apocalypse drama, “The Walking Dead.” On Sunday, Oct. 11, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the rest of the survivors return to the small screen for the Season 6 premiere. But where did things leave off last year? If you don’t have time to binge-watch all the episodes, we’ve got a brief rundown of the deadly events from the Season 5 finale.

Viewers caught glimpses of Morgan (Lennie James) throughout Season 5, and they were finally able to catch up with him in the finale. He was enjoying a nice fireside breakfast in the woods when a man with the letter “W” on his forehead approached him – the “Wolves.”

Fans learned that the people marked with “W” call themselves Wolves because the area they are in used to be overrun with the animals. Humans killed them … but now they’re back.

Needless to say, the Wolves are not friendly folks. Two men tried to rob Morgan and kill him, but Morgan was more skilled in combat. He used his bo staff to knock the pair unconscious. But Morgan didn’t kill them or leave them there to be attacked by zombies. He tossed them in an abandoned car before leaving.

Elsewhere, new BFFs Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Aaron (Ross Marquand) were on a run looking for other survivors to bring back to Alexandria. They find a man in a red poncho but lose track of him. When they come across a canned food factory, they decide to scavenge for food before returning home. However, the Wolves got to the canned food factory first and turned it into a zombie trap. When Daryl attempted to open one of the delivery truck doors, all the doors opened to reveal dozens of walkers.

Daryl and Aaron were surrounded in a gated area. The situation looked grim, but the two men were able to lock themselves in a car while they figured out an escape plan. However, a note inside warned them that something worse was coming. “Bad people coming, don’t stay,” read the note.

The two agree to fight together to escape, but someone begins slaughtering the walkers before they can make their move -- it's Morgan! Thanks to his help, they all manage to make it through the gates alive. But Daryl and Aaron are confused about his motives for helping them. Morgan told them “all life is precious.”

Meanwhile back at Alexandria, Nicholas (Michael Traynor) snuck off into the woods and Glenn (Steven Yeun) followed. Unfortunately for Glenn, it turned out to be a trap. Nicholas shot Glenn the first chance he got.

Nicholas wanted revenge after the fatal supply run that killed Aiden (Daniel Bonjour). He thought it was Glenn’s fault; Glenn, on the other hand, blamed Nicholas for Noah’s (Tyler James Williams) death.

The two battled it out in the woods, and it looked as if Nicholas left Glenn to become zombie food. However, Glenn reappeared and attacked Nicholas. He can’t go through with killing him though. Instead, the two start walking back towards Alexandria.

Things began to crumble at Alexandria. Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) left the gate open, allowing walkers to get into the safe haven. Rick managed to close the gate and track the few walkers that got in. But elsewhere the Alexandria, residents were debating about whether or not they should let Rick continue living inside the walls.

Deanna (Tovah Feldshuh) seemed ready to kick Rick out, just as he appeared with a dead walker on his shoulder. He tossed the body in front of everyone and explained that walkers were able to get in because the gate was left open and no one was on watch. But before he could continue, Pete (Corey Brill) showed up with Michonne’s (Danai Gurira) katana.

Pete was angry with Rick and was ready to attack him. However, Deanna’s husband, Reg (Steve Coulter), thought that he could calm Pete down before things got out of hand. However, that didn’t pan out. Pete accidentally cut Reg’s throat. In retaliation, Deanna gave Rick permission to kill Pete. Rick shot him in the head just as Morgan arrived with Daryl and Aaron.

“The Walking Dead” Season 5 finale concluded with the threat of Wolves nearby. The Wolves caught the man in the red poncho that Daryl and Aaron had been tracking and cut his throat. They then rounded up the walkers, herding them with music and lights back into the food truck traps. As they investigated the area, the Wolves found a bag containing photos of Alexandria.

“The Walking Dead” Season 6 will premiere on AMC on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 9 p.m. ET. Will you be tuning in? Tweet @AmandaTVScoop.
