A heated debate between Christine O'Donnell and Piers Morgan over the gay marriage question led to the walk-out of O'Donnell from the sets of "Piers Morgan Tonight" show.

O'Donnell, who is a member of the politically conservative Tea Party, made headlines last fall when she said she had dabbled in witchcraft.

Morgan, a British Journalist, had sought O'Donnell's views on abstinence and gay marriage. But, she refused to answer and said Morgan was "rude" to her while pressing for her views over gay marriage and said she came for the interview to promote her book and not gay marriage.

"I don't think it's relevant," said O'Donnell, who lost the November 2010 U.S. Senate election in Delaware. "It's not a topic I choose to embrace, it's not what I'm championing right now."

"Right now, what I'm trying to do is promote a book that I hope to be a very inspirational story to people who are a part of the Tea Party movement."

"I'm not talking about policies. I'm not running for office. Ask Michele Bachmann what she thinks," O'Donnell added.

She also questioned host Morgan "Don't you think as a host, if I say this is what I want to talk about, that's what we should address?"

"Uh, not really, no," Morgan replied. "You're a politician."

Morgan added that she could offer her views on those subjects as she has covered those topics in her book "Troublemaker: Let's Do What It Takes to Make America Great Again."

"I'm not being weird, you're borderline being a little rude," O'Donnell said to the host, right before storming off the program's set.

Morgan took his angst to Twitter and said: "My first ever walk-out in 25 years of interviews. I guess viewers can decide if I was 'rude' or not tonight at 9pm ET"

He further tweeted: "Ms O'Donnell wasn't happy about me quizzing her re views on witchcraft and sex. But really flipped at gay marriage Qs. Ripped mike and fled."

Piers Morgan Tonight is a talk show on CNN. The interview with Morgan will air at 9 p.m. on CNN.

Meanwhile, Morgan is not the only one who felt bizarre over the walk-out of O'Donnell. Twitter Maniacs blasted O'Donnell for her weird behavior with the media.

David Poland tweeted: "Christine O'Donnell exposed the soft underbelly of the Tea Party. They talk about freedom, but go bonkers when they don't have 100% control."

Don Van Natta Jr., a New York Times reporter, tweeted: "Christine O'Donnell is the first author in the history of publishing to walk out of a TV interview because the host apparently read her book."

Actor Stephanie Fredricks said: "Christine O'Donnell walking out on @piersmorgan was beyond bizarre. IT'S IN THE BOOK!!!!"

Patrick Ptomey, an architectural student, tweeted: "Wow, Christine O'Donnell made an idiot of herself on Piers Morgan's show. I'm glad she's not in Congress."

Freelance writer Tara Clapper said: "Seriously. How can Christine O'Donnell be a 'Troublemaker' if she can't even answer ONE semi-controversial question?"
