A New York City bus flew down a Brooklyn street in reverse Wednesday morning. A driver was not at the wheel. The bus then proceeded to slam into ten cars before hitting a church, according to a report by local New York station WNBC.

No passengers were on the bus at the time. A man that was changing his tire at the time of the incident was injured when he jumped out of the way.The man wasn't struck by the bus, but was brought to the hospital to treat a bone fracture in his foot, according to NBC's source. The injured man is in stable condition, according to police.

Greg Timmes, 27, was walking down Palmetto Street at around 12:30 a.m. EDT and witnessed the bus crashing into the church.

"I heard a loud crash and looked up to see an MTA bus in reverse quickly rolling down the street," Timmes said in an email to International Business Times Wednesday. "I looked ahead to see a car halfway on the curb and [saw] a man stumble onto the sidewalk and lie on the ground," he continued, referring to the injured man changing his tire.

When asked how fast the bus was going, Times said that the bus was going "roughly about 20 mph."

Timmes said he saw the man had a bloody nose and his friends were calling an ambulance before he heard a second crash. Timmes turned around and saw "the bus had went through the intersection and crashed at the corner of Knickerbocker Ave and Palmetto St. in front of St. Paul's Church."

"I turned around once again to see an MTA employee running down the street," he said, referring to the driver of the vehicle, who can be seen in the video. "A few minutes later I walk up the street and see 2 other MTA employees and tell them what happened and pointed them towards the accident."

In the video of the incident, it showed the driver following after the runaway bus and onlookers screaming "there's nobody in there" before a loud crash. No news yet if the driver of the bus will face charges and MTA said that an investigation has begun.
