Queen Elizabeth II, Kate Middleton and Camilla Parker Bowles share a common link.

According to Abbie Llewelyn, a journalist for Express, the Queen, Duchess of Cambridge and Duchess of Cornwall have the same connection to one of London’s most famous shops. In 2012, the trio visited the luxury department store Fortnum and Mason for their first ever joint engagement.

Each of them received special hampers as gifts, the flagship product of the shop. The treats inside included dog biscuits that were perfect for their pets.

Queen Elizabeth II has corgis, Middleton has Lupo, an English Cocker Spaniel, while Camilla has a rescued pet named Beth. The Duchess of Cornwall adopted the dog in 2011. She has another hound, Jack Russell Bluebell.

In 2015, Camilla and Prince Charles attended the inaugural Dumfries House Dog Show in Cumnock. The duchess and Prince of Wales took Bluebell and Beth with them.

During their visit, Queen Elizabeth II, Middleton and Camilla wore varying shades of blue. The Queen donned her usual pastel, the Duchess of Cambridge sported a steel-blue dress while the Duchess of Cornwall opted for navy.

“There had the Queen, a future queen in the Duchess of Cambridge and another future queen – a queen consort – in the Duchess of Cornwall,” former press secretary Dickie Arbiter told Channel 5’s “Inside Fortnum and Mason: The Queen’s Grocery” of the momentous event.

“So I think it was a very special occasion for Fortnums and I think a very special occasion for the Queen too in her Diamond Jubilee year.”

The company was set up by a royal footman to Queen Anne. It has since made products for royalty including the Royal Blend tea for King Edward in 1902. Marcel Knobil, a brand expert, was convinced that the trio’s presence was a huge help to the company especially because the monarch was there.

“To have her seen walking through your doors is such an impressive endorsement and one that any retailer would be delighted to have,” Knobil said.

On Monday, Middleton will have her big moment at the Chelsea Flower Show. The duchess designed a garden that will be showcased at the annual event. Queen Elizabeth II will be there to support Middleton. Other members of the royal family will accompany Her Majesty to the said event.
