BTS will be releasing a full-length album before the end of the year!

BTS fans everywhere were shocked and confused when BigHit Entertainment, the boy group’s agency, dropped the first installment of their “Wings” short film series on Monday, Sept. 5 without prior notice or explanation. However, the company has now confirmed that the short film will serve as one of the teasers for BTS’ highly anticipated comeback in the coming months, according to a statement published on Naver (via Peachisoda).

According to BigHit’s statement, BTS will be releasing more short films after “#1 Begin,” which starred the group’s main vocalist Jungkook. However, the agency did not confirm the official release dates for the teasers and the studio album.

BTS’ “Wings” comes two years after the boy group’s first full-length album, “Dark & Wild,” which was released Aug. 20, 2014. The latter came with 14 original songs, including fan-favorites “Danger,” “War of Hormone,” Cypher Pt. 3: Killer” and “Let Me Know,” so “Wings” is expected to have the same number of tracks. BTS’ latest album, “Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa: Young Forever” (“The Most Beautiful Moment In Life: Young Forever”), was released on May 2 and featured three new songs, “Young Forever,” “Fire” and “Save Me.”

Meanwhile, BTS fans took to Twitter on Monday to express their excitement over the short film and the comeback announcement as well as to share their theories explaining the video, making the hashtag “Wings” trend worldwide on the social media site for over 10 hours.
