Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson plans to get weight loss surgery after turning 17 later this month.

The reality star will celebrate her birthday on Aug. 28. She is considering going through the medical procedure shortly after that.

In a sit-down interview with Entertainment Tonight last month, Mama June's youngest daughter shared that she was thinking of having a physical transformation but was taking her time figuring out if she really wanted to do it.

Even before the interview, her manager, Gina Rodriguez, already confirmed to TMZ that the former "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" star would be heading to Queens, New York, in late August for her weight loss surgery.

Alana was reportedly having a suture sculpt endoscopic sleeve from weight loss doctor Steven Batash. The procedure would cost her around $13,000, but she's determined to have it because she wants to drop her weight from 275 pounds to 150.

During the interview, Honey Boo Boo admitted that after trying all sorts of diets and weight loss regimens, her weight could be genetic, so having the surgery would help her achieve her body goals.

"I know for a fact I could get in the gym and I know for a fact I could diet and I know for a fact I can do this to lose my weight. I've tried. I will say I've tried, but the one thing with me is I have no motivation. I have no motivation to just keep going to the gym every day," the reality star said.

She continued, "I have no motivation to keep eating healthy because, like, I'm gonna eat what I think is good. I'm not [gonna] sit there and force myself to eat no Caesar salad because I think it's healthy. No. I'm gonna eat what I think's good. So, I just think I don't have motivation, and I feel like the surgery would be, like, probably the easiest way to just, like, lose it fast."

A suture sculpt endoscopic sleeve is a good option for people with a BMI of 30 or more struggling to lose weight despite exercising and dieting. The procedure involves inserting a suturing device into the throat down to the stomach for suturing to make it smaller, as per Mayo Clinic.

The result would typically lead to a significant weight loss since the person's food consumption would be limited. However, the health care company warned that people who go through it should commit to a healthier lifestyle after the procedure to achieve long-term weight loss.

Before Alana's weight loss surgery later this month, she recently had her senior photos taken. The "Mama June: Road to Redemption" star shared snaps from her photo shoot ahead of her senior year in high school on Instagram last week.

Fans showered her post with positive messages. Many pointed out how fast time flew for the media personality, who first graced the small screen through the TV show "Toddlers & Tiaras" when she was just five years old.

"Growing up too fast. Where has the time gone?" one wrote.

"Seems like yesterday you were drinking gogo juice! Hope you have a wonderful senior year! Soak it, it goes by fast," another commented.

"These are so cute! Hope you have an absolutely amazing senior year," a different fan added.
