Social media has been abuzz with female border patrol officer that has caught the attention of many admiring fans. Kiara Cervantes was spotted providing security for Vice President Mike Pence during a McAllen, Texas, detention center visit on Friday, and the photograph of the woman has gone viral since. Now dubbed IceBae, Cervantes has confirmed that the woman in the photo is her and has even responded to many of the comments she is receiving via Twitter.   3. The U.S. Customs and Border Control has confirmed that she is indeed the customs officer in the photo and that she is allowed to use social media, the New York Post reported.
  4. She woke up to the news of her viral photo and many admiring fans on Monday, which she responded to with a video explaining who she was, according to her Twitter account.
  5. Cervantes created her Twitter account on Sunday in response to the photo and to confirm her identity. She amassed 23,000 followers in a time period of 24 hours, the Daily Mail reported. She now has over 55,000 followers.
  6. She has responded to a hater that called her “litteral scum” by saying on Twitter, “I think that’s really rude and naive of you to say. You have no idea who my parents are and no idea what goes into my job on a daily basis… before speaking on something you know nothing about…. DONT. Regardless I’m blessed and thankful for the career I have.”
  7. Cervantes said on Twitter that she takes “a lot of pride” in her job, which at times can be “difficult.”
