Paul Walker’s girlfriend of seven years, Jasmine Pilchard-Gosnell, is inconsolable after his untimely death in the Santa Clarita area of Los Angeles on Saturday. The “Fast and Furious” actor was 40 years old when the Porsche Carrera GT in which he was a passenger crashed into a tree and burst into flames.

Roger Rodas, 38, was the driver of the high-performance sports car that crashed around 3:30 p.m. He was Walker’s business partner and a co-owner of the car customization store Always Evolving in Santa Clarita. Since Saturday, there have been claims that the crash may have been caused by a steering malfunction, but that has yet to be confirmed.

According to reports, the bodies of both victims were too badly burned for visual identification. Walker’s girlfriend, Pilchard-Gosnell is said to be spending time with her family after the tragedy. The 23-year-old is a college student in Santa Barbara, and began dating Walker, 40, in 2006 when she was 16.

Her uncle, Barton Bruner, spoke to the Daily Mail about their relationship. “Paul was a really good guy and Jasmine is broken up by this,” he said. “I went to Thanksgiving with him, played golf with him. They had their ups and downs, but they were together and looking to spend a bright future together. This is horrible news and unexpected. Her mother is with her and she is comforting her.”

Walker also leaves behind a 15-year-old daughter, Meadow, who recently moved from Hawaii to California to be closer to him.

Many celebrities have reacted to Walker’s death on social media since Saturday. His “Fast & Furious” co-star Vin Diesel tweeted, “Brother, I will miss you very much. I am absolutely speechless. Heaven has gained a new Angel. Rest in Peace.”

Walker's other co-star, Tyrese Gibson, wrote, “My heart is hurting so bad no one can make me believe this is real Father God I pray that you send clarity over this cause I just don’t understand My heart hurts it’s broken no one can convince me that this is real…. Prayer warriors please pray real hard for his only child, his daughter and family… #HeartOfAnAngel13YrsFamilyForeverWeJustCelebreatedYour40thBirthday….. My God… My God… I can’t believe I’m writing this [sic].”

Gibson visited the scene of the accident on Monday and wept as he laid flowers by the crash site.
